Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company Updates Website to Drive Recruitment Efforts

Public Information Officer and EMS Director, Kevin Carson, wanted a sustainable website that would meet the department’s current and future goals. “I was looking for strong design, graphics and customer support,”

Church Hill Volunteer Fire Company was looking for a website to engage its community and showcase the volunteer opportunities available. Their previous website did not meet these needs, so First Arriving stepped in to transform the site into a product the department is proud of.

Church Hill is one of nine volunteer fire departments in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. As a department, Church Hill focuses on recruitment and retention to maintain the vital service that it provides to the community and it was important to them that this was conveyed on their site.

Public Information Officer and EMS Director, Kevin Carson, wanted a sustainable website that would meet the department’s current and future goals. “I was looking for strong design, graphics and customer support,” Kevin Carson, Public Information Officer and EMS Director, said. This is what brought him to First Arriving.

The entire process of working with First Arriving was easier than expected, Carson said. The team at First Arriving bring their clients an understanding of Fire & EMS as well as volunteer recruitment. This made the process simple to ensure that the site created was designed to appeal to potential members.

In addition to launching Church Hill’s website, First Arriving helped the department get set up with Google for Nonprofits, which provided them with the tools that they need to achieve digital growth accompanied by their new site launch.

“Everything is now easier with the new website,” Carson said. “Everyone is pleased.”
